a short 45 minute ferry ride will take you to a different country.

one saturday, a friend and i went to batam, indonesia and spent six glorious hours at a day spa, one of the top 10 best in asia according to them. it was very good and i hope to return again!

monkey on the sidewalk

on our way to the playground up the street we met a monkey on the sidewalk. i didn't get the shot i wanted because ty wanted to pet it like a dog. i guess we see the same amount of monkeys as dogs around these parts.

MALACCA

malacca is just S$40 and 4 hours away from singapore by bus.

malaysia is a world away from singapore's urban jungle.

we stayed at hotel puri, a restored peranakan house that has a fantastic location and feel.

jonker street is full of fun boutique and antique shops.

we shopped right on in to the night market.

and got delicious treats along the way

then went for some foot reflexology and back massages

just beware of tiger claw!! :)
