You did it! They look gorgeous!
yes! the second was totally fast too. and guess what? i cut more material for a third! lol. when are you coming over so you can finish yours? :)
CUTE BAG!!!!!!! love it, love it, love it!!! how'd you like doing piping? i love the way it looks, but i'm totally intimidated to try it - way to go, malia!!! :)!!bess :)
@ bess : oh man. using a pattern is so much easier! lol. i tried piping before...total disaster. amy makes it easy. i think i'm going to put some piping on everything i make now - just for fun. :D
i got this pattern! any tips? bess :)
oh bess. you are going to love it! the pattern is very detailed. i had to read each step about 15 times before i understood exactly what pieces it was and where it went. lol. the only thing i think i could add to the awesome pattern is to sew the piping tighter than it called for. on my last run, i ran my finger against the cording and sewed flush up against it. i also made a few more pockets for my cell phone, keys, and wallet - inside the pockets already there. oh, and buy extra material. you will want to make a ton of these bags. :)
one more thing: i liked the tote better than the bag because i couldn't get my zipper to lay flat. plus it cut out a few steps.
i hear ya about the zipper! i like to put in a magnetic snap and call it good. :) thanks for the tips! i'll let you know how it goes. :)
